DON!! management
DON!! is tempo and safety at once. Learn how to split it up.
DON!! is your most important resource. Two more arrive every turn. Spend them badly and your hand gets worse all by itself.
Splitting DON!!: develop or swing
Plan the whole turn before you spend the first DON!!. Decide what goes onto the board first — whatever is left funds the attacks.
Put everything into one attack and you deal a lot of damage this turn and hold no board next turn. Put everything into the board and you have a full field and no threat.
The second question: how much DON!! do you leave open? Open DON!! is an announcement — your opponent will expect a counter event. Sometimes that alone is worth it, even when your hand is empty.
The difference between good and bad DON decisions:
Spending everything
Turn 4, 8 DON available. You play a 5-cost and a 3-cost Character. No DON left open. The opponent attacks your Leader — you cannot boost anything and have to counter from hand.
Leaving 2 DON open
Turn 4, 8 DON available. You play a 5-cost Character and leave 3 DON open. The opponent attacks — you boost your Leader by 2000. The attack does not get through and your hand stays intact.
